The autumn equinox has passed so it’s the time of year again for Strictly Come Dancing to come bouncing back on to our TV screens. An opportune moment for Keep Dancing to bring the spirit of Strictly’ to York for ‘FAB-U-LOUS’ extravaganza of show dancing. Two of the Strictly’ professionals Robin Windsor and Amy’s Garnis take your breath away with their sublime dancing and sheer athleticism.

Keep Dancing features all the favourite styles of dance in a fast paced, high energy show. We are treated to; Tango, Waltz, Cha Cha Cha, Salsa, American Smooth, a highly entertaining Charleston, Jive, Foxtrot, Samba,Pasa Doble, Lindy Hop and Rumba!

The dazzling costumes keep changing with the different dances. The show becomes more and more frenetic, climaxing under the eponymous glitter ball with a show stopping Disco medley finale and an explosion of fireworks and falling glitter.

To accompany the dancers is a mixture of recorded music and two stunning percussionists; Joëlle Barker and Adam Green on a raised platform above the stage and three incredbly talented singers; Lisa- Marie Holmes, Harriette Virginia Mullen and Adam Warmington making a perfect blend of dancers and vocals, being very much part of the show. This week in York the Strictly’ celebrity is Chelsee Healey whose spectacular dancing and boundless energy seamlessly fits in with the professional dancers. Who can resist the glamour, the glitter, the costumes and the infamous spray tan!

The obvious omission from the TV show are The dreaded judges, the delighted audience at The Grand Opera House would I’m sure have given straight 10s for a wonderful spectacular of show dance and choreography from the Keep Dancing company.

The party is on all this week, finishing on Saturday October 1st. A party not to be missed - guaranteed to give any autumn day a sprinkle of glitz and glamour.
