York River Art Market is a unique art and design market, set in a stunning riverside city centre location and hosting a variety of established and emerging UK-based artists. York River Art Market will be back in Summer 2019 on all Saturdays:
6, 13, 20, 27 July
3, 10, 17, 24 August
YRAM will showcase a different variety of over 30x artists each Saturday. There will be a broad range of artists and designers working in a variety of different mediums, from painters to potters to photographers to jewellery makers. There is something for everyone’s taste and budget. You can buy a printed card or a piece of original artwork, all directly from the maker. Ideal for those special gifts as well as for serious art collectors.
Some of the artists to watch this year are as follows…
Saturday 13 July - Rosie Bramley
"Inspiration is drawn from my devotion to the natural world. The landscape takes my breath away and I aspire to convey this. The source of my larger works are small sketches drawn from the immediacy of my surroundings whilst outdoors. Automatic drawing helps me employ all the senses and document my feelings as well as a visual response. Back in the studio my work takes on a life of its own. Using a mixture of media, sometimes with elements of collage." - Rosie Bramley
Saturday 22 & 29 June, Saturday 3, Saturday 17 & 24 Aug - Kai West
Kai West is an illustrator and designer who specialises in Screen Printing. He is a well-established York based musician playing in several bands including Hyde Family Jam. Kai designs and hand prints gig posters which become collectables in their own right.
All 10 Dates - Daniel Worth
Originally from Brisbane, Daniel Worth studied visual arts illustration at NMIT in Melbourne. He has been a finalist in the Jack Goldhill Painting Prize in London, received both Highly Commended and People’s Choice in the Williamstown Art Prize, and been a finalist in the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship. He has exhibited widely in both solo and curated exhibitions in Australia, the UK, Europe and the US. Now he is living in Melbourne where he is studying at the Victorian College of Arts.
