Following on from the success of last year’s Big Yorkshire Youth Theatre Festival, The Big Yorkshire Youth Theatre Festival 2019 is back on Saturday 20 July. The Junior day is for young people aged 7-11 to come and take part in two workshops with theatre practitioners, working with young people from other youth theatres to gain new skills. These sessions will be based at York Theatre Royal.

Workshops include:

• Immersive Storytelling with Anna Rogers

• Improvisation with Paul Birch

• Script Detective with Frances Simon

Tickets: £15

*FOR AGES 12-19

The Senior Festival will take place over a 12 hour period from 9am to 9pm, offering a big warm up, a choice of workshops, networking opportunities, a chance to bring your own work and see the work of other youth theatres and professional companies, plus a giant improv battle! This takes place over two sites in York; York Theatre Royal and Riding Lights, Friargate.

• Senior Lighting with Simon Bedwell

• Abstract Theatre & Harold Pinter Sketches with Anna Rogers

• Monologue Surgery with Frances Simon

• Directing with Erin Burbridge

• Costumes Through Time with Pauline Rourke

Both festival’s are programmed and run by a young people’s Festival Team from York Theatre Royal and Riding Lights.
