Six Lips Theatre: New Earswick Writing Workshops

16th February 2017

Following the success of their creative writing workshops in 2015 funded by JRF, Six Lips Theatre was successful in receiving a further grant from the New Earswick Residents Forum to run two creative writing projects. The first project completed in Autumn 2016 with participants creating a new writing booklet, illustrated by local artist/writer Miss Trout (Anna Rogers). Over 200 of these booklets were distributed in New Earswick and local libraries.

The second project commenced 3rd February and anyone wanting to be involved is still welcome. Over the next 10 weeks Six Lips Theatre will be working collaboratively with the community to script a new play based around what they think that the local community would like exploring and presenting in the form of a free rehearsed reading performed to the public.

The workshops where the script we be produced happen every Friday 2.30-4.30pm in the Meeting Room at New Earswick Folk Hall. All levels of experience are welcome and all resources are provided.

Past feedback:

“I would definitely recommend the workshops. I enjoyed it immensely”

“The content was well paced and the time flew by. The workshop facilitator was a good communicator and very knowledgeable”
