York River Arts Market

York River Art Market returns this year as a summertime, city centre, riverside arts event which runs each Saturday 10-6pm from July 15 til 2 September 2017.

The market is situated alongside the River Ouse on Dame Judi Dench Walk, behind the historic Museum Gardens and is visible from Lendal Bridge. Artists from all over Yorkshire and beyond hang their unique art works along the riverside railings, creating a wonderful atmosphere which many have compared to the Parisian Left Bank art markets.

Perfectly situated between Marygate car park and York train station, this is the ideal place to visit while in York: you can get yourself a delicious ice-cream whilst you browse artworks from the quirky local ice cream boat The Full Moo or sit back with a cold drink and some lunch at the award-winning restaraunt Star Inn the City whilst reflecting on ‘that’ painting that you must have. Or may be you’re a picnic person: what better place to spread the blanket and share the sandwiches than the green and lush Museum Gardens - this location has everything and more to offer you on a summer’s day.

Come and experience this relaxed yet buzzing Arts Market for yourselves and maybe even take away something special and handmade in Yorkshire for yourself or a loved one that will remind you of this beautiful city.
