Pauline Quirke, star of Birds of a Feather and Broadchurch, has recently launched advanced performing arts classes in York for aspiring professionals aged 16-25.
PQA Plus runs every Thursday evening from 6-9pm at Huntington School in York, with advanced workshops in acting, singing, dance and filmmaking. Students undertake specialist masterclasses and work with leading choreographers, directors, vocal coaches and film directors. The end of each term culminates in an in-house performance, or a showcase to invited guests and industry professionals.
“We are delighted that we are able to offer classes to 16-25 year olds in York after running our classes for 4-18 year olds in the city for the past three years,” said Principal of the Academy James Aconley. “We have many exciting projects planned, including masterclasses from special guest professionals, Trinity College London exams in Acting and Musical Theatre, original films and creating actor showreels, as well as working on audition technique and repertoire building in preparation for vocational training”.
